Preparing for Your Appointment
Review your appointment details- Confirm the meeting time, location, and any access instructions with your notary before your appointment
Have your documents ready- Ensure all pages are complete, printed, and organized. If documents were emailed to you, double check that nothing is missing.
Bring valid identification- A current (not expired) government issued photo ID is required for all notarizations. Anyone whose signature needs to be notarized must be present with their ID at the appointment.
Allow enough time- Most general notary appointments take 10-20 minutes. Loan signings can take up to 45-60 minutes. A specialty location (hospital, nursing home, jail) appointment time may vary.
